  11. I have the AMAX IV board with roms installed.
  12. I have 12 megs of RAM with 8 available after
  13. booting up. Also have a retina Z3 with 4 megs
  14. of ram. using A3000 25 mhz '030

  16. ok. now for the questions.

  18. also downloaded shapeshifter.
  19.  
  20. 1) installed amax iv. upon running, i set up
  21. the prefs and it goes to boot. i get the happy
  22. mac face and then it gets in a loop of rebooting
  23. amax again and again.. so its mac boot.. die...
  24. mac boot... die... etc. whats wrong?

  26. 2) how alright is shapeshifter on a '030? fast
  27. enough? havent unarchived it yet. i also need a
  28. boot file.

  30. other notes: i got a so called shapeshifter boot
  31. file from the net a while back and tried using it
  32. with amax iv. i get the mac happy face and then
  33. a message saying something like "shapeshifter...
  34. play and then pay" and then it hangs. i was wondering
  35. if perhaps my mac harddrive partition was bad or 
  36. something. i dont know why. the partition worked fine
  37. under amax ii. but since its been almost a year since
  38. then, i tried the shapeshifter bootfile. please please
  39. please help me. i really need solid mac. i was fine with
  40. amax ii but then i upgraded to workbench 3.1 and was
  41. forced to switch up to amax iv. i figure it should all
  42. work fine. in the end im going to have about 16 megs of
  43. ram. enough to run system 7.1 i believe.
